Course description and objectives
The place where you will gain specialist skills for your future career
Did you know that Italy is the first European country for value added in agriculture?
And that Foggia in particular, along with its administrative district, leads the national production output in key crops such as tomatoes, wheat and olives, incl. their export as horticultural products?
Nowadays, agriculture demands innovative approaches to challenges such as climate change and the adoption of sustainable strategies in line with circular economy principles.
In the English-taught Master’s Degree Course in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, you will share our core mission within a multidisciplinary and international learning environment i.e. driving change in agricultural production systems.
We are committed to preparing highly-qualified professionals in the agricultural sector who are inspired in their academic journey toward a successful career as future agronomists, consultants, technicians, scientists and entrepreneurs.
Our Core Objectives
- Provide advanced academic traineeship for future agricultural science professionals
- Develop technical and practical skills for the design and management of agricultural production systems
- Promote environmentally sustainable practices across the agri-food supply chain

Career Opportunities and Employment
Graduates in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies will primarily enjoy employment opportunities in:
-
- Food production and preservation companies
- Public and private organizations promoting rural development, environmental protection, and sustainable land management
- Research and experimentation centres that carry out technical and scientific dissemination
- International organizations and institutions such as FAO, the European Commission, EFSA, NGOs and other international agencies working in agricultural development, trade, and policy harmonization
- Organizations for quality assurance and certification that carry out inspections, certification, and traceability of agricultural products and supply chains
Study plan
The Master’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies is organized into four semesters over two academic years. The Year 1 Second Semester includes multidisciplinary modules taught using Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The Year 2 Second Semester focuses on elective free-choice courses, a traineeship/internship experience, and the development of an experimental thesis project under faculty supervision. Winter Semesters (1st and 3rd) start in October and end in January. Summer Semesters (2nd and 4th) start in March and end in June
